Q&A with Peter

How did you get into taking pictures for a living?

I first started taking photos in hopes of selling a few of them through a micro-stock agency on the web as a hobby. To date, I have sold over 6,000 photos. I then moved on to start my own commercial product photography business, 360 Studio Pro, that I now own and operate.

Tell me about your 360º photography studio setup! For starters, what kind of camera do you shoot with?

All products are shot using high-end digital photographic equipment at a resolution of up to 18 megapixels (3456 x 5184 pixels) before being cropped. My state of the art studio utilizes customizable advanced lighting setups, allowing me to produce high quality 360° images for any type of shoot.  For every shoot, a unique lighting setup is built specifically for that product to highlight its best features.  An established streamline process enables me to consistently create stunning 360° images with great turnaround times.  Every single image also goes through an advanced post-production process to make certain that every image looks its best.  The very latest in color calibration technology is also used to guarantee accurate color reproduction.

What type of products are you particularly good at creating 360º views of? Do you have a specialty?

I have a lot of experience with photographing electronic products, but I also have an extremely good understanding of how to light and photograph any type of product sent to me. Most products I photograph are smaller than 20 inches on their longest side and weigh less than 15 pounds.

Describe your ideal client for shooting a 360º view.

I enjoy working with all type of clients, but my ideal client is someone who has strong communication skills.

For 360º photography, do you prefer shooting in high volume or low volume?

We're probably somewhere in the middle, maybe leaning on the low volume side a bit. Although we're fast, image consistency matters a lot to our clients; so we take the extra time to make sure that the 360° photos perfectly match prior photo shoots from months ago. The 360° photos on their website have to look consistent, so we spend extra time making sure it's perfect.

What kind of things do you do for fun? You know, outside of work?

I really enjoy doing things outdoors such as rock climbing, hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping.

Who are some clients you've done work with in the past?

I have worked with a lot of different clients over the years such as Glucocard, LifeWrap Solutions, and The Cake Top, just to name a few.
